There isn't much known about The General. He values love, but keeps it secret, because Queen BlackHeart has forbidden love. He is loyal to his queen; even willing to die for her, no matter what!
The General does not have any magic or special skills; technically he is the first humanoid and magicless character Zach and his friends had no choice but to kill. His death really affected Kitt, who couldn't help but thinking there had to have been an other way. After all, killing humans is not the same as killing soulless monsters...
His death made The Soldiers doubt if they really were the 'good guys'. So, in the end, his death had the positive effect that it convinced Zach and his friends that killing is never good; no matter the cause. Still, if they hadn't stopped him... he would have stopped them...
