Moka wanted nothing more than to be in the Moon Tournament. To make him happy, Mika suggested to steal an invitation. Moka just went along... to make Mika happy. Moka is quite the loner, because his parents were always gone and his big brother was hardly ever at home either. When he found out he really was alone (and very rich!), Moka closed himself off.
However, he couldn't leave a helpless girl like Mika alone. He did everything for her, especially going along on her insane shopping sprees. Moka is smart, he really is, but he doesn't want people to know it, to avoid stereotypes. Still, his friends turn to him for plans and advice.
Moka keeps himself in the background, being Mika's everlasting support. He can't always deal with Kitt, thinking she is irrational, but in the end, they are all his dear friends. Derak is like a big brother to him, Kitt the annoying sister and Zach is... still Zach. The poor boy DOES need to get some more credit!
