"Oh Zach, it has been ages!!" The girl continued to hug Zach with all her strength.
Zach tried to get loose, confused and astounding. "But... Kimi? Huh?"
Kimi let him go and the cheerful girl twirled around. "What do you think?" She giggled.
"But... your face!" Zach pointed. "How...?"
Kimi took his hands. "It's unbelievable! About 3 years ago, my parents moved to Serenay Moon because my father got a great job here." She continued. "And his boss knew this great facility and they fixed my face!" She flapped her hair backwards. "Look! It's all gone!"
"Amazing!" Zach touched her face. "It really is all gone!" Suddenly he heard some coughs behind him. He saw Kitt with folded arms and the Ladies gazed confused at them. "Oh, right, I think I should introduce you. Come in Kimi."
Kimi walked in and looked around. "My, what a nice place you have here." She then spotted Moka's room. "What happened?" She asked curious.
Derak jumped in front of the room. "Oh, nothing important. Just a little accident."
Zach introduced Kimi to the others. "Guys, this is Kimi. I went to High School with her."
"Guys?" Kitt asked with narrowed eyes. The only other guy in the room was Derak.
"Kimi." Zach went on. "This is Derak and Kitt."
"Nice to meet you." Kimi bowed and shook hands with Kitt.
"Whatever." Kitt mumbled.
Kimi then spotted the Ladies. Lady Ignis and Lady Aqua felt a little bit uncomfortable, while Lady Kim and Lady Gaia looked doubting. "Where did she suddenly come from?" Lady Kim whispered to Lady Gaia.
Lady Luna walked forward. "Hi!" She said with the biggest smile ever. "I'm Luna!" She didn't say 'Lady Luna' on purpose in the hope Kimi wouldn't expect something odd.
Lady Kim gave a hand also. "And I'm... Kim." She hesitated. "We are a theatre group and we happen to know Zach."
"Oh, I didn't knew Zach was in a theatre group." Kimi asked.
Zach sweated, but Lady Ignis bumped in. "That's because he... uh... we live very nearby and Zach found my wallet!"
Kimi hugged Zach. "Really? How sweet!" The other Ladies introduced themselves also.
At that moment Mika came in the room. "What's going on here?" She asked curious. "Moka can't rest with all that noise."
Zach apologised. "I'm sorry Kimi, you came at a bad time. One of our friends is sick and he needs to rest. Maybe we could go to the garden? Oh, by the way, that's Mika."
Kimi greeted and introduced herself and took Zach's arm. "When I found out you were staying in this town I just had to come and visit you!"
"Really?" Zach wondered. "Oh Kitt, could you fix us a drink?"
"What?!" Kitt exclaimed and growling walked into the kitchen. She threw a complete orange in the blender and made a messy juice.
Mika peeked in the kitchen. "Something wrong?" She asked.
Kitt noticed what she had done. "Nothing at all!" She growled and pulled the refrigerator door open.
Outside in the garden, Lady Ignis and Lady Luna played with a ball. Lady Gaia did some work in the garden and planted some flowers while Lady Aqua gave them some water.
"I really hate this hose." She sighed while standing there.
Lady Gaia smiled. "I know, but we must convince Kimi we are nothing more than ordinary humans."
"Ouch!" All looked at Lady Luna. She rubbed her behind that was smoking.
"What is wrong?" Kimi asked concerned.
Lady Luna gazed at Lady Ignis. "Nothing. Ignis is just a sore loser." She grumbled.
Lady Ignis pretended to blow away some smoke from her finger. "That was for cheating with the ball." She grinned.
Lady Luna wanted to reply, but suddenly she heard a mental voice in her head: 'Did you use your powers again to cheat? I told you it's unfair to let the wind blow when you want and need it.'
Lady Luna looked at Lady Kim: 'But she aims at my head!'
'You are weak.' Lady Ignis joined the conversation.
'I am not!'
'Yes you are!'
'Gosh Ignis, you really fight with everyone, don't you?' Lady Aqua burst in.
Zach and Kimi looked at the silent Guardians, just staring at each other. "What are they doing?" Kimi asked suddenly.
Zach thought a moment. "Well... I think... no, I have no clue at all."
"Fine, have it your way!" Lady Ignis suddenly exclaimed and folded her arms.
"Apologise to your sister." Lady Kim commanded.
"Sorry Luna." Lady Ignis growled softly. "There, happy now?"
"They are sisters too?" Kimi liked to know and Zach nodded.
At that moment Kitt came with a tray of glasses. With a lot of noise, she put them on the table. All took one and sat around the table on some chairs and benches.
"Well Kimi." Derak said. "You were just about to tell how you found out Zach was here."
Kimi giggled. "Oh yeah! It was actually quite stupid."
"Tell me about it." Kitt mumbled.
"I was walking in the bakery and the baker had a video about last year's Moon Tournament!" Zach almost choked in his drink. "He told me it was his favourite Tournament because the Full Moon Finals had never been so exiting."
"Really?" Zach asked and looked at Kitt, who looked away with a short 'humph'.
Kimi nodded. "Yes, I missed the finals because I was away for my last check up and kinda forgot about it. And then I saw you!" Kimi sat really close to Zach. "It was so exiting! I told the bakerI went to High School with you and that I was really surprised you became this good!"
Zach blushed a bit. "Oh? Really?"
"Yeah!" Kimi shoved a bit closer and Zach shove backwards. "And then he told me you were staying in this town and I just looked up your address in the phonebook and here I am!"
"Peachy." Kitt replied uninterested.
Derak ignored Kitt and asked another question. "Just one more question; what is so special about your face?" He started. "Zach was pretty enthusiastic about it."
Kimi looked a bit down. "When we were in High School... we... em... there had been an accident." Zach looked at his hands and looked depressed. "There was an explosion in our science lab and my face... half my face was burned. The doctors thought I would never get healed."
"Oh, you are THAT Kimi!" Lady Ignis jumped up. "Oh... sorry." She sat down.
Before Kimi could ask how Lady Ignis knew about her, Derak asked another question. "What caused the fire?"
Zach looked shocked and Kimi noticed that. "Nobody knows." She lied. Zach looked at her. Kimi gave a soft smile and Zach could only smile back. "Zach was my best friend back then!"
"Okay, I'm off!" Kitt stood up. "I'm gonna check up on Moka and then prepare dinner."
The Ladies stood up also. "Oh yes! And we must go too!" Lady Gaia apologised.
"Yes, we have rehearsal for our play!" Lady Aqua added.
The Ladies waved good bye and quickly left the cottage. Only Derak, Zach and Kimi were left alone.
Kimi immediately clutched to Zach. "Hey Zach, why don't we take a walk?" She suggested.
Zach nodded. "Sure!" He replied. "And I bet Kitt doesn't mind that you stay for dinner."
Derak sighed. "And who is going to tell her that?"
"Would you?" Kimi smiled innocently and dragged Zach along.
Zach waved Derak goodbye and Derak sighed even deeper. "I'm so doomed...." and went inside.
Zach and Kimi walked through town. "Ehm... Kimi?" Zach started. "Thank you... for not telling them."
Kimi smiled. "It's okay. You would have done the same for me."
"I'm really sorry what happened back then." Zach looked at his hands.
Kimi took his hands. "You just discovered your powers! And everything turned out right, so don't worry any more." She winked. "However, you haven't told me what you think about it yet."
"About what?" Zach asked.
"My face!" Kimi cheered. "Don't I look pretty again?"
Zach sighed smiling. "Of course, even better than back then."
Kimi folded her arms. "Why does it sounds like you don't mean it?"
Zach looked at Kimi. "I do mean it!" He said. "It's just that...."
Kimi closed her eyes. "Oh, I see. There is someone, isn't it? Someone special?"
Zach nodded. "I'm sorry if I disappointed you."
"Not at all! I want to hear all about her!"
"Honestly, you don't."
Kimi giggled as enchanting as ever and pulled Zach through the town.
Hours later, the night had fallen and Zach and Kimi were still out in the town. They sat on a bench and looked at the stars. "Oh Zach, I wished it could just stay like this forever!"
Zach smiled. "Yeah, it was really nice to have you here again. It felt like I was back in High School." Suddenly he heard a church clock ringing its bells. Zach jumped up. "Oh my god!" Zach exclaimed. "Kitt is waiting for dinner with us! We must hurry!"
Kimi took his arm. "No, I don't want to lave yet."
"I assure you, you don't want to mess with Kitt and being late for dinner!" Zach pulled Kimi up. "I once came 10 minutes late and boy she was angry! Yelling about how she slaved away in the kitchen and that I didn't appreciate her."
"How mean of her." Kimi replied.
Zach shook his head. "You haven't seen what she can cook. Come on, we must go."
"No, stay!" Kimi pulled Zach close to her. "Please, I want to stay..."
Zach looked into Kimi's eyes. Suddenly a something golden appeared in her eyes. Confused Zach stayed staring into her eyes.
"10 minutes, an hour, what does it matter." Kimi smiled. "I assure you, she won't mind."
At that moment, the same golden glaze appeared in Zach's eyes. It stayed for a second, and then it vanished.
At that moment, a red haired girl sneaked through town. "Kim doesn't understand." Ember Burns growled. "You have responsibilities." She imitated the leader of the Guardians. "Don't act like a child!"
Ember sat down near a fountain and huffed. "Damn crystal took away my whole life! And then Gaia complains that I never gave up anything!" Her face became sad. "They don't know... how it feels to be one day carefree and suddenly have the fate of the universe resting on your shoulders."
Ember stepped up and put her head in the fountain. "Chill out Ember!" She snapped. "All this thinking is making your head too hot. And you are already a hot head!" She shook her hair a bit dryer. "You know it's impossible to turn back time, even though it's your biggest wish of all times. Live with it; your prom was hundreds of years ago, so are your boyfriends and so is your groupie club. No more miss popular and no more miss carefree. Accept it, you just had to grow up."
Ember sat down on the bench again and sighed. She then spotted Zach and Kimi. "Hey, Zach? What is he doing here? And he'd better hurry home. He knows how Kitt reacts when someone is late for dinner."
At the cottage, Mika, Moka and Derak sat on the table. Kitt was nervously walking around. "I think they just forgot the time." Mika smiled. "They'll come any minute!"
Kitt turned at her with red eyes. "He knows what time we eat!"
"Relax." Derak suggested. "Because of Kimi..."
"Kimi?!" Kitt exclaimed. "That's no excuse! Zach knows the rules and that doesn't change when Miss Ditzy Dweep comes to pay a visit!"
Moka, in the mean while, had been playing with his fork. "I think..."
"You think what?!" Kitt snapped.
Moka smiled at Kitt. "I think you are a bit jealous!"
Moka grinned and Kitt turned away with a red face. "No I'm not!" She growled. "Don't push your luck Moka, the fact that you are sick doesn't mean...."
"Yup, she's jealous." Derak concluded and a frying pan swung to his head.
Kimi opened a door and entered a great disco. "Now Zach, let's have some fun!" She smiled and pulled him in.
Ember quickly followed them inside. "This is not normal." She mumbled. "Zach knows about Kitt's temper! He would never try to go against it! There must be something wrong with Kimi!"
Somewhere above in the disco, 2 soft skinned girls looked down on the dancing Zach and Kimi. "Doing just great Kimi." Tsukiyo smiled. "Doing just perfect..."
