Special XXVIII: Little Wish VII: The Perfect Princess

Zach and Kimi opened the door laughing. "Oh Zach, I never knew you could dance this well!" Kimi laughed as she lay her head on his chest.
"I never had so much fun!" Zach added.
Suddenly he spotted Kitt in the doorway. She was boiling mad and had a frying pan in her hand. "Do... you have... any idea... how late it is?!" She growled.
Zach waved at her. "Oh, hi Kitt! Just throw our dinners in the microwave. Kimi and I are going to eat it in the garden." Zach walked away with Kimi, laughing and having fun.
Astounded Kitt lowered the frying pan and looked at them vanishing in the garden. Derak looked around the corner. "Is it safe already?" He then noticed Kitt and protected his head from whatever may come. However... nothing came. Nothing at all.
Nothing... until Kitt ran up the stairs and closed the door to her room with a loud slam. Mika came looking what had happened. "This is not right." She said to Derak. "Kitt NEVER leaves without getting even with Zach."
Derak stood next to Mika. "Yeah... and she didn't even slam the frying pan in my head." Both looked outside and saw Zach and Kimi sitting and laughing.
The next day, Mika, Moka, Derak and Kitt sat on the dinner table, ready for breakfast. The clock at the wall made an annoyingly ticking sound and all just started at the table. Moka had been feeling much better, but even he noticed the thunderclouds that surrounded Kitt.
At that moment, Zach and Kimi came into the room also. "Wow, is it this late already?" Zach asked while having his arm around Kimi's waist. "Sorry Kitt, I promised Kimi I would take her to the mall. We'll grab a snack there."
"Oo!" Mika squealed. "The Mall! Can I come too?" She then noticed Kitt's deadly glaze. "Oh wait, I have other things to do. Never mind." She felt so small, but she knew Kitt was not in the mood to argue with.
In a happy mood, both Zach and Kimi vanished through the door. Again the clock was the only thing that could be heard for moments. "Well?" Kitt suddenly snapped. "Eat!"
"What about you?" Moka asked.
"I'm not hungry!" Kitt snapped so hard that it scared Moka.
Quietly all started dinner but none were in the mood. Suddenly Kitt started to talk again. "I don't see what he sees in that Airhead!" All looked at Kitt. "She only giggles and is so annoying! Just because she knows Zach from High School. What does she have that I don't have?!"
Mika wanted to answer, but Derak put his hand on Mika's mouth. "If you value your life, DON'T answer!"
"If you value YOUR life..." Kitt threatened. "You'll answer my question!"
Derak tried to hide in his chair. "It's nothing big!" He peeped.
Moka tried to say something. "It's just that... Kimi doesn't have a temper."
"I don't have a temper!!" Kitt bellowed.
"That's what I mean!" Moka replied. "Kimi would never let herself go like that."
Astounded, Kitt didn't react. Derak grabbed the chance and added some of his own points. “Yeah, don’t take it as an insult.” He said. “But if you could just… mellow a bit…”
“Mellow?!” Kitt growled.
“Okay, maybe a poor choice of words, but Kimi doesn’t seem to get angry that easily.” Derak changed. He stood up. “Maybe you should try to count to 10 before reacting.”
Mika stepped behind Kitt as well. “Yeah!” She smiled. “Just think first.”
“Like you always think things first through.” Kitt reacted.
“There might be another thing…” Moka started.
Kitt looked at him. “Another?” She softly asked.
Moka hid behind the table. “Kimi is so… feminine.”
Kitt jumped up. “What?!” She yelled. “Are you insane! In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a GIRL!”
“A girl yeah.” Moka continued. He had gotten so far, he couldn’t back down now. ”But that’s all! I mean, the girls I always knew weren’t so… pushy, never fought and had better manners.”
Kitt felt herself boiling. “Are you saying… I don’t have any manners? Are you saying I’m pushy?!” She dragged Moka over the table. “I’m the most feminine creature in the world!!!!!!!”
“Are you sure?” Mika asked softly. “Would a girl drag a recovering boy over the table just because he has his own opinion?”
Kitt let go of Moka and looked down. “No… a girl would not... I’m loosing him…”
“Nah!” Derak smirked. “Of course not! All you have to do is to change your small bad points, nothing more.”
Kitt looked up. “I... I can’t.”
“Why not?” Mika asked. “It’s not like we are asking that much.”
Kitt shook her head. “No, you ask too much.” Kitt turned towards the door. “You are asking me to change who I am…” And she left the room and quietly opened and closed the door.
Kitt left the house and walked through the forest. She always had liked this path, but now it seemed so dark. She knew what was on the other side of the forest; the cliffs and the ocean. While she was walking, she heard the voices of her past.
‘Why can’t you be more like Star?’
‘Why are you always so mean?’
‘Why don’t you wear this t-shirt? Everyone wears it!’
‘Why don’t you wear something nice for a change?’
“Is it so hard?” She asked herself. “Is it so hard to be accepted for who I am? I don’t want to be a Star-copy, or a Kimi-copy. I want to be a Kitt-original.” She sighed and reached the last trees of the forest. She leaned against it and sighed. “It seems that in this world it’s forbidden to be yourself. Why can’t I be accepted for who I am? Why… can’t Zach accept me for who I am? All I want is to be accepted…” Kitt shove down the tree and started crying. “I lost him… I lost him because… because… I was just being me… How can I stop being me? Why do I have to become a copy of someone else just to fit in?”
Moka put on a jacket. “This is going wrong.” He said and opened the door.
“Where do you think you are going?” Mika asked.
“I’m going to find Zach, or Kitt, I don’t care.” Moka replied. “Zach is acting weird and Kitt has a nervous-breakdown. And the only one who can comfort Kitt is Zach.”
“I’ll go along!” Mika followed Moka and Derak followed Mika out of the house. “But where should be look? They can be anywhere!”
“I know Kitt longer than today.” Derak said. “Knowing her, she’s at the sea.”
Mika looked sad. “Was she right? Did we ask too much from her?”
Derak shrugged. “I’m not sure. All I know is that Kitt always tried to be who she was and that got never accepted. I know that feeling.” He remembered the days with his gang. He wondered how they were doing…
While they were looking for Zach or Kitt, no one noticed the 2 pairs of eyes that were following them.
“Oh Zach, let’s go to the beach!” Kimi exclaimed. “That would be so romantic!”
Zach hesitated for a moment. “The beach?” He mumbled. As if he was remembering something, but quickly it vanished again. “No, I have a better idea! Let’s go to the cliffs; it’s really cool there!”
Zach pulled a happy Kimi along towards the cliffs.
“There are only 2 friends with him.” Yuugao whispered. “Can we hit him now?”
Tsukiyo shook her head. “No, not yet. But so far, everything is going as planned. We’ll made holes in their team and our little pawn is about to tear them up completely.”
Not much later, Kimi and Zach ran up the cliffs. “This looks so cool!” Kimi exclaimed and let the wind play with her hair. Zach joined her and for a moment, he had that feeling again. As if something tried to tell him to wake up.
Kimi took Zach in her arms. “Zach, this is so romantic. You are so great!” Both looked at each other and were silent. Slowly, their faces came closer to each other… and both kissed.
“Kitt…” Zach mumbled.
“Kitt?!” Kimi exclaimed and looked up.
Zach looked up also. Horrified, he pushed Kimi away. “You are not Kitt!” He yelled. “Kimi, how could you?”
“Zach, listen to me, you don’t belong with that pushy brat!”
“My God, I kissed you!” Zach felt terrible. “Why on earth did I do this?” He turned around and his breath startled. Before him…stood Kitt.
Tears were in her eyes and the salty wind played with her hair. Zach reached out for Kitt. “Kitt!” Zach yelled.
Angry and heart broken Kitt turned around and ran away. She ran upwards to the cliff. Zach wanted to follow her, but he heard other voices. “Zach, wait up!” Zach spotted Mika, Moka and Derak. He looked back at Kitt and then Kimi, who looked at him with a steel face.
“Why did you do this...?” Zach asked her.
“Because we ordered her to do it!” Zach looked up and saw Tsukiyo and Yuugao jumping down.
“What happened?” Mika asked.
Yuugao turned at Mika. “Nothing special. It was quite romantic actually.” She grinned.
“Our little fire boy just declared his love to our sweet Kimi.” Tsukiyo added.
Derak’s mouth fell wide open. “You did what?!”
“Zach, how could you?” Moka accused him.
“I don’t know what had come over me!” Zach tried to defend himself. “It was like I was caught in some spell!”
“Spell?” Tsukiyo pondered. “That’s right! We don’t need her any more.” With a wave of her hand, Kimi suddenly collapsed. “Run kiddie; we’ll spare you since you meant a great deal to us.”
Kimi slowly woke up. “Uhn…” She started. “What happened?”
“Kimi was under their spell!” Derak grinned with his teeth. “How low!”
Tsukiyo laughed. “That may be, but that doesn’t change the fact that Zach did kiss Kimi!”
“I kissed Zach?!” Kimi stepped back horrified. “Zach, I’m so sorry!” She ran at him. “I didn’t know what I was doing!” But Zach couldn’t look her in the face.
He was ashamed too much. “What did I do…?” He only said. “What have I done to Kitt?”
“And now, it’s TIME!” Tsukiyo launched an attack at Moka.
Moka jumped away and barely made it out alive. “Charm Chaos!” Mika yelled and blasted at the Dream Fairies.
“Leave them alone!” Kimi yelled and jumped at Yuugao.
“Kimi, no!” Derak yelled.
Kimi punched with her fists as hard as she could on Yuugao. “Get away, you little pesk!” Yuugao yelled. She threw Kimi away. “We told you to leave while you still could!” She formed a great energy ball and aimed at Kimi. “Now it’s too late!!”
“No!” Zach yelled and tried to get close, but he couldn’t ever make it on time.
Kimi screamed of fear and placed her arms before her eyes. Suddenly she felt she got pushed away.
Moka saw everything that happened. “Kitt, No!”
Instead of Kimi, the energy ball hit Kitt with all her force. Kitt got blasted backwards. Hard she fell on the ground and rolled on.
“She is going to fall!” Zach ran at Kitt but it was too late. Kitt fell over the edge and fell towards the ocean.
While she fell, Kitt hit the sharp and heavy boulders of the cliff. Her jacket got torn as well as her hair bands. Without moving at all, Kitt crashed down the ocean.
“Say bai bai Moka!” Tsukiyo grabbed Moka and together with her younger sister, she vanished without a trace.
“Moka!” Mika and Derak yelled but it was to no avail. Moka… was gone.
“Kitt!” Zach yelled and looked at the surface of the raging sea. However, Kitt didn’t appear any more… “Hold on, I’m coming!” Zach climbed as fast as he could down the cliff.
“Zach, don’t do it!” Kimi yelled. “It’s suicide!”
But Zach didn’t listen and without any hesitation, he jumped into the cold and stormy ocean.
Slowly her body sunk toward the bottom of the sea. Her hair danced along with every movement of the waves, but there was no reaction at all. Kitt’s heavy clothes dragged her towards the bottom of the sea.
Zach dove under, but saw nothing. When he came back to breath, he looked around quickly and dove under again. Going much deeper than first he tried to see something, but still he couldn’t spot Kitt. His ears started to hurt because of the pressure.
At the bottom, a young girl lay silent, as if she was asleep. No bubble escaped from her mouth. Yet suddenly… a small pendant of her necklace began to glow… it was the small silver heart… she had gotten from Zach…
Zach reached the surface again. “Kitt!” He yelled, hoping for an answer. “Kitt!” Again he dove under. At that moment, he spotted a light. He grabbed a rock and used its weight to reach the light. It took only a few seconds before Zach too reached the bottom. Confused he looked around; he should have been drowned by now! But still, he felt no pressure at all on his lunges… in fact… Zach was breathing! He suddenly noticed the aura around him. “Hang on Kitt.” He whispered. “I’m coming.”
As fast as he could, Zach swam towards the light. The water was cold and it was freezing him but somehow he had given the ability to breathe under water; he couldn’t let it go to waste! And as long as he could breathe… Kitt was alive!
Soon Zach spotted a shade and the light became brighter. Zach tried to swim harder while his heart went faster too! He had finally found her!
Kitt lay unconscious at the bottom of the sea yet somehow her necklace emitted a bright light. Zach hesitated no longer and quickly grabbed her. As fast as he could, he swam towards the surface, ignoring the cold and the currents.
Slowly the light of the pendant began to fade… “Hang on Kitt, hang on!” Zach tried to encourage her… but just before he reached the surface… the light died out. And all Zach could see, was a complete darkness… and that he had almost no air left…
